Overview

Times Tables have long been the way to teach children the 'simple' sums.  Chanting their way through the tables gives them the basic tools they need to understand multiplication.

When your child has mastered the Wall Charts, give them a worksheet and get them to complete it.  At first, you may consider allowing them to use the Wall Chart to help, but the ultimate goal is to get your child to complete the worksheet unassisted.

Constant repetition in completing these worksheets will ensure the Times Tables stay firmly in your child's mind.

Development Skills

Education:
Reinforces the ‘Times Tables’ – multiplication from 1x1 to 12x12.

Suggested Method of Use
Three possible approaches might be:

1:  Sit your child down with a worksheet after successfully completing each level on the Wall Charts.  Your child should use the Wall Chart to help them complete it.  This will provide immediate reinforcement of the lesson.

2:  As your child completes the next Wall Chart, get them to complete the current worksheet and the previous worksheet.  Only allow them to complete the current worksheet with assistance.

3:  Finally, give your child a random selection of worksheets to be completed with no assistance.  Once they get to this stage they should have mastered their Times Tables.
