Times Tables have long been the way to teach
children the 'simple' sums. Chanting their way through the tables gives them
the basic tools they need to understand multiplication.
When your child has mastered the Wall
Charts, give them a worksheet and get them to complete it. At first, you
may consider allowing them to use the Wall Chart to help, but the ultimate goal
is to get your child to complete the worksheet unassisted.
Constant repetition in
completing these worksheets will ensure the Times Tables stay firmly in your
child's mind
.
You can keep track of progress with the 'Star Chart' to you
and your child can both see how well they are going.
